Building Cross Platform Mobile Apps with the Rhodes Framework

Google Tech Talks 4th March 2009 ABSTRACT Rhodes is an open source Ruby-based MVC framework for building run locally, device-optimized mobile applications that run on all smartphones. It is similar concept frameworks like Rails, Merb and Django is much to lighterweight locally on smart phones with limited memory and resources. Rhodes is mainly on applications that work with local synchronized data from backend server application specifically with the other source component RhoSync. Rhodes also allows you the advantage of the native capabilities of the devices take as GPS, PIM contacts and camera. But the majority of your interface development by changing HTML templates is done. Rhodes is available for iPhone, Windows Mobile and Research In Motion, Symbian and Android phones. In this session we show the creation of a Mobile App from scratch, which runs on all these devices will. Rhomobile is the Open Mobile part company. Our mission is to help build the open source components, building cross platform mobile applications quickly and with a great user experience.     He,, UI quality in the smartphone app-framework is not a differentiator. Ruby + + Sync capabilities is the device.
